Description of program:
Curriculum includes models of supervision, learning models, stages of supervisee development and transitions in supervisees/supervisor development, supervision interventions, awareness of individual differences and learning styles of supervisor and supervisee, cultural differences and multicultural competencies, relational dynamics in the supervisory process, and awareness of the developmental process of the supervisory relationship itself.
Workshop objectives:
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will:
- Gain updated knowledge on current models of supervision
- Gain awareness of developmental models and application to supervisory interventions
- Learn about Solution-Focused supervision as one example of constructivist models of supervision
- Be more aware of multicultural theories of supervision and become more multiculturally competent as a supervisor
- Be given the opportunity to discuss relational dynamics and their potential impact on the supervisory relationship
- Discuss cases and effective supervisory strategies
